Story behind the dish

The rose latte takes inspiration from Turkish and Persian rose water, used in Ottoman pastries for centuries. Coffee shops in Istanbul and Dubai reinvented it as a luxury floral latte. Its romantic aesthetic made it viral at weddings and brunches on Instagram.

Preparation

Rose latte is a Turkish preparation with easy difficulty. Reserve about 15 minutes in total (10 for mise en place and preparation, 5 for cooking). Follow the 7 phases in order: each step indicates what to do, what to observe and, when applicable, the time or level of fire.

Before you start

  • Have ready: 30 ml of espresso.
  • Have ready: 250 ml of whole milk.
  • Have ready: 2 teaspoons of edible rose water.
  • Have ready: 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar.
  • Have ready: 1 pinch of salt.
  • Salt, oil and spices measured and within reach.
  • Clean utensils, board and clear work surface.
