Story behind the dish

Baklava is an Ottoman dessert perfected in the kitchens of Istanbul's Topkapi with layers of filo and dried fruits. Each region of the eastern Mediterranean has its version with pistachios, walnuts or almonds. It is sweet festive of weddings, Ramadan and family celebrations.

Preparation

Turkish Baklava is a Turkish preparation with high difficulty. Set aside about 95 minutes in total (45 for mise en place and preparation, 50 for cooking). Follow the 7 phases in order: each step indicates what to do, what to observe and, when applicable, the time or level of fire.
