Story behind the dish

The Blue Lagoon is a classic Caribbean cocktail of curacao and lemon that we adapt here in a non-alcoholic mocktail version. Its intense turquoise color made it a favorite of beach bars and tropical parties. Today it shines on family-friendly menus and summer social networks.

Preparation

Blue lagoon mocktail is a Caribbean preparation with easy difficulty. Reserve about 8 minutes in total (8 for mise en place and preparation, 0 for cooking). Follow the 7 phases in order: each step indicates what to do, what to observe and, when applicable, the time or level of fire.

Before you start

  • Have ready: 120 ml of alcohol-free blue curacao.
  • Have ready: 200 ml of cold homemade lemonade.
  • Have ready: 100 ml of soda or sparkling water.
  • Have ready: Ice cubes.
  • Have ready: 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  • Salt, oil and spices measured and within reach.
  • Clean utensils, board and clear work surface.
  1. Prepare lemonade by mixing lemon juice

    water, sugar and salt; cool

Taste before serving: the balance between salt, acidity and fat defines the final result

  2. Fill two tall glasses with ice to the brim

  3. Pour non-alcoholic blue curacao into the bottom of each glass

  4. Add cold lemonade gently to keep blue layer down

  5. Complete with soda or sparkling water for bubbles

  6. Decorate with lemon slices

    cherries and mint

  7. Stir before drinking to integrate uniform turquoise color

Variations

  • Version with pineapple puree for more sweetness.
